| The Hong Kong Women's Choir |
The Hong Kong Women’s CHOIR was founded by a group of dedicated women, international and Hong Kong, with a common love of singing. Within this organization, there are two sister groups: NOVA, the core group of singers performing to accompaniment and The Grace Notes who sing a cappella (unaccompanied). Rehearsals are held weekly and fundraising concerts for local charities are run each year in May and September. COME AND JOIN US AND SING...!!! The objectives of the choir are to perform to raise funds for Hong Kong charitable concerns while bringing music to the Hong Kong public, especially to children. To date we have helped organizations such as The Home of Loving Faithfulness, Against Child Abuse, St. Barnabas Society, St. John's Counseling Service, Youth Outreach, the Hong Kong School for the Deaf, China Coast Community, The Children's Cancer Society and The Hong Kong Vocational Center. We also perform for other charitable organizations to help in their efforts to raise money for the needy, and continue to look for those charities that need support. At rehearsal every Wednesday NOVA continues to explore ideas to broaden our efforts to bring charity and our music to Hong Kong. In recent projects, THKWC has produced a cookbook for sale with food recipes, compiled by choir members present and past from all over the world. Funds raised will go to support our charitable efforts. Another project, completed this year, is a CD recording of our 2006 concert at called Swing Time. This and other items the Hong Kong Women's Choir has produced can be found for sale at our concerts and on this website. We welcome the donations of sponsors - personal and corporate - in Hong Kong who support these worthy projects.
