We have Fun too!
Our MISSION is to perform to raise funds for Hong Kong charitable concerns while bringing music to the Hong Kong public, especially to children and the elderly. To date we have helped charities such as The Children's Cancer Foundation; The Samaritans; The Home of Loving Faithfulness; Against Child Abuse; St. Barnabas Society; St. John's Counseling Service, Youth Outreach; Hong Kong School for the Deaf; Hong Kong China Coast and Hong Kong Vocational Centre, to name a few. The full choir of NOVA has hosted throughout the years evening concerts, dinner concerts, church concerts, private balls, Thanksgiving, with frequent performances at shopping malls, schools and home for the elderly. Repertoire at concerts include jazz song of the 1920s-50s; Broadway musicals; love songs from all over the world; signature songs from different countries and many Christmas carols in December. GRACE NOTES, the A-Cappella group within the choir, performs at more private occasions such as birthday parties, weddings, boat trips, barmetzvah and even funerals. The smaller group of about 8-12 ladies has the flexibility to perform at smaller venues where instrumental and piano accompaniment is not available. GRACE NOTES also has the flexibility to sing in a variety of ensemble arrangements - solos, duets, trios, quartets and more - at any event.
